The day before

Tomorrows the big day in kielder and I've done all I can now. My preparations have probably been the best I've had before a big race. I haven't had any serious injuries, I've got my long runs in and I'm feeling pretty good (apart from it being Saturday night and not being able to have a drink lol).
The weathers not looking too great, but that's out of my control so I'm just going to toe the line and do the best I can.
My goal is to get round in 3-20 which means going through halfway in 1-40. This is what I went through last year but ended up struggling in the second half and having a massive positive split ending up with 3-34.
This year I've got a few more gels and am hopefully a bit wiser and stronger so I'll just have to see how it goes!!
Post race report to follow.....

New world record

Great morning yesterday watching the Berlin marathon and seeing the world record getting smashed! I wonder if I will see the 2 hour marathon in my lifetime (certainly not by me haha).

My knee and calf don't feel too bad this morning so I'm excited for kielder, although I'll have to be careful in the next 2 weeks and resist the temptation to go out and push myself hard.

Last long run

Well that's my last long run done before the kilelder marathon. 17.5 miles round beamish, was hoping to do a little more but firstly my knee and then my left calf put paid to that. Throbbing pretty badly near the end so hopefully I haven't done too much, only time will tell ......
